Beware Lead in Lipstick

A recent study by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has found detectable levels of lead in over 60 per cent of mainstream lipstick brands.

According to Dr Mark Mitchell, President of the Coalition for Environmental Justice, 'Lead builds up in the body over time and lead-containing lipstick applied several times a day, every day, adds up to significant exposure.'

Choose natural lipsticks based on jojoba and rosehip oils, plant waxes and natural mineral pigments instead.
