Philosophy
Ikigai is all about looking great and feeling fantastic. We believe that there is simply no need to sacrifice quality or luxury when you choose natural and organic skin care and beauty products.
The powerful beneficial properties of natural herbs and plant essences can be harnessed to enhance our health and beauty, in harmony with the natural world and without damaging our environment.
Animal Testing
Ikigai is also absolutely against harming innocent animals in the pursuit of beauty and therefore opposes animal testing wholeheartedly.
Chemical Ingredients
We believe that consumers have a right to know what goes into the cosmetics and skin care products they use, and we are saddened that so many cosmetics on the market contain harmful chemicals of which consumers are unaware.
We road test and review the best of natural skin care products against the very highest ethical, health and environmental standards. We do not stock products containing phthalates, parabens, harsh surfactants, PEG compounds, formaldehyde, or synthetic fragrances, preservatives and colours.

History
Ikigai co-founder Kate has always been interested in natural and organic skin care, food, and a more holistic way of life.
These lifestyle choices soon extended to an increased interest in the ingredients of Kate’s favourite designer skin care and beauty products. Horrified to discover that many of the brands she’d used regularly contained chemicals that were at worst toxic and at best ineffective, Kate carried out extensive research into the best and most effective natural and organic skin care and beauty products.
Ikigai was born of a deep desire to share this knowledge with others. Kate was the beauty editor of Peppermint, Australia's only eco-style and beauty magazine for over a year and is still a regular contributor.
